Messages sorting order

Does anyone know how to add the ability to change the sort order of the messages in nukes message module?

Hasn't anyone wanted to post a message and have it appear as the top most message on your home page. I am sure you have; and you simply replaced message 1 with your new posting and moved your first message to the next spot. I only see message ID being important for the sort oder, so how can we add the ability to manage this? Can use or create something similar to the blocks manager? Does anyone know how to make this happen?

No, Nuke messages. i.e. /admin.php?op=messages

I would like the ability to add a new message and move it to the top when desired.

Hi Mtwo,

What you want to do can be done, but will require a lot of hacking.

1. Modified nuke_messages to add a row for the weight of the message (order)

2. Edit the functions add_message and edit_message to update the SQL to include the new row

3. Edit mainfile.php to add the sort by weight to the SQL

4. Modified message.php (admin/modules/message.php) to include the arrows and an extra column

I can recommend you to check the code of blocks.php (admin/modules/blocks.php).

I have tried this, but have not had any success. Has anyone else attempted this mod?

If so, can you please post the code changes.
