Hello all,

Somewhere i made a mistake with my PHP-Nuke site.
I have changed something in a script somewhere so now i've no access to my Forum, Forums-Admin, Member-list, Private Messages,Submit-News,ViewOnline(users).
When i try to access it says "Hacking Attempt"
Who can see the connection between these scripts ?
My site works with:
PHP-Nuke 7.6 / 3.2b patched / BBtoNuke 2.0.21
Sentinel 2.5.11
Approved Membership 6.1.6-7.6-3.2
Forum News Advanced 3.0
and with many Mods installed.
Last Mod that i applied:
Complete Banners 1.3.4

I need some help to solve/debug my problem or can give me a hint how to track this down.
I hope someone has some time left to help.
I tried everything but with no result, i'm calling for help !

Hi Eric,

Try disable the NukeSentinel first and also check the error log of your apache server if you can.

Let me know,

Emil

Thanks for your time !
I did disable (from the menu) Sentinel but with no result.
What should i look for in the error logs and which one.?
Could it be a database problem that causes this "Hacking Attempt"

Hi Eric,

The "Hacking Attempt" message is produce by NukeSentinel, that is why I ask you to disable it to see if it is working. Even if disable from the admin menu you report it was not working.

Are you sure you properly install NukeSentinel?

If you edit mainfile.php and remove or comment (// or #) the newly add line to install NukeSentinel and try again what happen?

Let me know,

Emil

Sentinel always worked, i don't think Sentinel is the cause of my problem.......
If i replace forums/common.php (3.2d / BBtoNuke2.0.21) by version 3.1, the "Hacking Attempt" message disappears but still no access to Forum, Forums-Admin, Member-list, Private Messages,Submit-News,ViewOnline(users).

Hi Eric,

The problem with NukeSentinel is that it filter the HTTP request to the site. I forgot to ask you an important question about your site and the question is if you site is a new installation or an upgrade? Beside all that it is an uncommon case and the reasons can go from script related problems to hosting setup issues. Have you try your current installation on other server or hosting account?

When I have been in similar situations I play safe. I create a temp directory on my server (sample: http://mysite.com/test ) and there I load a clean installation of nuke and I load it with all the modules and mod I will be using, but NukeSentinel. If everything works, the I install NukeSentinel. I also enable the display error variable in case I am missing something.

Have you try the version 7.6 patch on this site:

Let me know,

Emil

Greetings Malcom and welcome to the boards!

Well we never use the installation wizard to make a fresh install or upgrade of nuke. That is why the Nuke distribution from this site does not have it.

Also when you ask about the version this site is running you mean the Nuke version or the theme name?

Enjoy. Wink

Hi Malcom,

I think that this site is running 8 (almost sure) or 7.6 patch and protected with Nuke Sentinel. I will recommend you to use 8 and for the theme this site is using a theme call fiblue3d and you can download it from here

Enjoy. Wink
